Scrubba by Calibre8 office

About the company

Scrubba by Calibre8 is an emerging company making a big impact in both the global travel and outdoor adventure industries. Our mission is to make journeys easier with innovative, lightweight travel and outdoor products. Our business encompasses Australian and global ecommerce as well as B2B supply to key international markets. Our lead product, the Scrubba wash bag (named by Forbes as one of the greatest gifts for travelers), is stocked in many leading outdoor stores across the globe. We have a dynamic work environment with a strong recent history of new product releases.

About the role

We are seeking an exceptional individual with a passion to develop their marketing skills. The role will suit a marketer with an entrepreneurial nature.

If you are the type that:

  • sees opportunities in everything;
  • can critically filter and prioritise the opportunities; and
  • has the drive to give challenging projects a go,

then you may be what we are looking for.

A self-starter with a strong resolve to get things done, and the ability to deliver ROI on campaigns is an absolute requirement. We have an easy-going work environment (our CEO normally kicks around the office in shorts and thongs) so it is important you enjoy the relaxed working culture of an entrepreneurial business and possess a strong work ethic.  A passion for the outdoors and travel is desirable to enable a strong connection with our brand and to embrace our corporate vision.

Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing campaigns and will be supported by our in-house creatives with the capability to develop the following assets:  images for digital content, product videos, blogs, packaging design, digital assets, and B2C and B2B communication materials. As an investor in the company, Janine Allis from Boost Juice will also have an influence on the marketing direction and strategy.

The purpose of this role is to develop & implement innovative marketing programs for business growth.  As the Marketing lead, you will be involved with pretty much everything marketing related including:

  • Annual marketing planning and strategy, in collaboration with the CEO
  • Identifying and engaging with like-minded brands in the travel and outdoor industries to create mutually beneficial collaborations
  • Maintaining a campaign calendar
  • Budget management
  • Budget proposals and execution of campaigns within budget and on time
  • Digital advertising
  • Direction of social media, including Facebook, Instagram, and newly emerging channels
  • Driving brand message consistency in all marketing materials
  • SWOT analysis to identify marketing opportunities not yet realized
  • Analyzing campaigns and identifying the good, bad and ugly for future campaigns
  • Activating and supporting key B2B partner programs and reviewing against key performance indicators to determine program effectiveness
  • Providing event coordination and management.
  • Monitoring and evaluating effectiveness of marketing offers and alignment to changing customer needs.

This role will suit a marketing graduate with a few years of experience under their belt.

Our first screening test is for you to include your salary expectations in the cover letter. If this isn’t included you won’t be considered. Also market yourself in the cover letter – the job is for a marketer after all.
